La Chanh Nguyen’s Moss Carpet

If you hate the smell of a bath mat after a few months then you’ll surely be interested in La Chanh Nguyen’s Moss Carpet. La Chanh Nguyen idea was to shape nicely a rott-resistant foam called plastazote and plant in it’s matrix moss.
The good part of it is that besides having nature in your bathroom too, it feels nice under the feet, it’s healthy -as they say it improves sangvine circulation while walking barefeet on grass-, you don’t have to water the moss and the moisty bath mat heavy smell is history…very well-suited for a DIY project.
Here’s a better picture:
On a side note let’s see what is exactly the plastazote foam:
“Plastazote™ is a proprietary closed cell polyurethene foam presented in sheet form.” (source)
It is produced by Zotefoams plc, a company from Croydon UK and quoted on the London Stock Exchange. From theyr website:
Closed cell cross-linked polyethylene foam.
A wide range of polymer combinations is available to give increased stiffness, improved temperature resistance and improved mouldability. Application areas include packaging, protective padding in contact sports, automotive, health care and building. The inert qualities of PLASTAZOTE have led to its widespread use in healthcare applications.
